Initial Ideas

Our idea has always followed along the same lines, but has taken a few changes since we came up with the idea;

  • Our film initially was going to start with a big group of family and friends watching the news together at a social event of some sort (i.e.birthday), but we decided to change this already, as it required too many extras.

  • We changed this to just one boy laying in bed watching the news.

  • On the news there is a report on a brutal gang related murder, taken place earlier that night.

  • As the boy lays in bed watching the report he has flashbacks of him at the scene of the murder, and we see the events that took place, through several different flashbacks.

  • There is a knock on the front door, and as the door is answered, the boy in bed straight away looks at the murder weapon (yet to be decided what this is).

We chose to do our film introduction on the genre of thriller, we chose this genre because we felt with the use of the four technical codes we could create a realistic and proffesional looking opening 2 minutes. Hannibal is an example of a succesful movie of the thriller genre.
